Nonna's Kitchen

Summer 2025 | Maya, Substance Painter, Substance Designer, Unreal Engine 5
Backstory
For this project, I’ll be creating my Nonna’s old kitchen from her Philly apartment. It always had lots of bright colors, plants, and plenty of food. I want to focus on including story elements and making the ambience of the environment feel warm and welcoming.
Inspiration
I’ll be trying to replicate the Valorant art style. They do an amazing job of balancing stylized shapes with painterly and PBR textures.

As I researched the Valorant art style, I found multiple articles and posts breaking down how the artists on the game made it, and how fans have recreated it. After reading through how others have created this style, I plan to focus on learning how to set up vertex painting, creating foliage, and learning more about particle systems.
